Dragon battle of gods4/29/2023 While I would have appreciated seeing more signature abilities, it’s still a treat to jump back into this world once again. Seeing some of my favorite characters return, and even more of them duke it out in some of the most exhilarating fight sequences I’ve ever seen is special though. ![]() An over-the-top villain, a ton of explanation of things that don’t make much sense, epic battles, and maybe a little too much campy filler. Yikes! Prosĭragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods has a lot of what you’d expect from any full season of the show. The last 20 minutes seemed to all be set up for another film, with Beerus hinting that there are other universes with beings even stronger than he is. The two Gods trade powerful punches for a while and the assault is definitely the highlight of the film in terms of action. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods - Uncut Version (4,396) 7.1 1 h 16+ Prepare for the Dragon Ball Z experience of a lifetime Beerus, the God of Destruction, wants to obliterate mankind Only Goku, Earth's greatest hero, can ascend to the level of a Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus's rampage. There’s even a song that starts up in the background that got me even more hyped for the assault. When the Super Saiyan God finally appears and he and Beerus duke it out in an explosive, fast-paced battle, it's more action-packed and awesome than I was expecting. While the recap is nice, I was also hoping to see an example of Beerus’ strength here, but instead, he simply reveals his vision of a mighty Super Saiyan God who looks exactly like Goku, and how he must take this arch-rival out, even if it involves destroying Earth. The whole scene basically acts as a Saiyan history lesson for those who aren’t quite up to date on how the powerful, gold-haired fighters work. ![]() It’s neat for viewers to learn that Frieza had some orders from above, but what’s more interesting is how Beerus reacts to someone defeating the ruthless Galactic Emperor. It turns out Beerus cat-napped through some of the most epic battles in history, after instructing Frieza to destroy planet Vegeta, home of the Saiyans. Even though no one has mentioned him throughout DBZ’s 291-episode run, we learn about him through some fun cameos by the lovable and knowledgeable Kais. He may look small and purple, but looks can be deceiving. ![]() Battle of Gods’ first act introduces us to the smarmy, cat-like God of Destruction, Lord Beerus.
